Well we finally bit the bullet on Friday. At the marina in Hood River by noon, took a lunch and watched kiters riding on the jumps and rails. Girls were on 7s and 8s and guys a bit bigger. So we blew up our 8 and 10 and rigged down by the river. The wind picked up (just as it was forecast) and Butch tried the 8 and was over powered, so the 10 went down, the 6 went up and we traded on and off. Butch was comfortable, Paula still a bit over, but manageable. There’s a bit more comfortable feeling after getting on the river, feeling the current, scoping the launch sites and, importantly, picking the right size kite.
All in all a fun day.
